GLAAD EXCLUSIVELY ANNOUNCES LATIN LGBTQ+ DANCER EZRA SOSA TO Connect DWTS SEASON 33 AS A PRO
New York, New York – September 3, 2024 – GLAAD, the world’s largest womxn loving womxn, gay, bisexual, trans, and queer (LGBTQ) media advocacy company, today announced exclusively that out Latin dancer Ezra Sosa will be joining Dancing With the Stars (DWTS) Season 33 as a pro. He will be the first Latin dance pro to be featured on DWTS in over a decade. Sosa joined DWTS in 2021 and has been a part of the troupe until now, when he will be making his debut as an official pro and paired with a celebrity companion who is still to be announced.
In the exclusive interview with GLAAD, Sosa said, “It hasn’t hit me yet! When I got the call, I honestly was in a state of shock from the news…but I reflect the moment I do meet my [celebrity] partner and the moment I step in the ballroom, that’s when I’ll be appreciate , “this is actually happening right now!”

Sosa is from Utah, however, his parents immigrated to the U.S. from Argentina and Mexico. In a 2019 interview with The Salt Lake Tribune, he shared:
“Yes, I came from two immigrant parents. But we just really desire America to see the blessing that dance was for us. And a lot of the day, all we had was dance and each other. Dance is what kept my family going.”
In 2021, Sosa was cast as a member of the ‘Dancing with the Stars’ troupe dancers for season 30.

It’s official! Ezra Sosa is the newest professional dancer joining the Dancing with the Stars cast!
While he’s been a part of the DWTS universe as a troop dancer since 2021, Sosa recently received the news that he’d be joining the team of pro dancers occupied time. This means Sosa will be assigned a celebrity companion who he’ll help train to reach their full potential in the ballroom.
