Singer Grace VanderWaal is showing off a very dramatic recent look on social media — and while many of her fans are praising the makeover, others have expressed 'concern' over the major change.
Grace, 16, rose to fame in 2016 when she was just 12 years aged, so it's not surprising that many still think of her as the sweet tween who wowed judges on America's Got Talent.
But ahead of her 17th birthday in January, the teenager is changing up her look, and has shared several new TikTok videos sporting a buzzed head, dramatic makeup, and grown-up outfits.

‘America's Got Talent’ Alum Grace VanderWaal Shares Rare Life Update
Grace VanderWaal is fine being perfectly imperfect.
Nearly eight years after winningAmerica's Got Talent, the singer made an impromptu appearance on one of TikToker David Carmi's Confidence Heist videos, in which he asks New Yorkers their secret to existence confident while out on the streets.
"Oh my god, you're the TikTok guy!" she raved in an Aug. 14 video. "My name is Grace VanderWaal."
After David marveled at the "coincidence" of stumbling upon her, Grace said that her secret to looking confident is actually "having somewhere to go."
In addition, the 20-year-old said growing up in the spotlight helped her get out of her comfort zone.
"It threw me into scrutiny," explained Gracem who won America's Got Talent in 2016 at the age of 12. "And just kinda forced me to sink or swim."
And though it may sound "corny," the ukulele player advised viewers to "accept who you are" and accept "your strengths"

Singer/songwriter Grace VanderWaal became a household name at the age of 12 when she won Season 11 of America’s Got Talent and released her debut EP, Perfectly Imperfect, with AGT judge Simon Cowell‘s record label Syco Music.
Since then VanderWall has toured with Imagine Dragons and Florence and the Machine and launched her acting career in 2020 when she starred in the Disney+ musical film Stargirl (and in the 2022 sequel Hollywood Stargirl).
This week the 20-year-old star turned heads at the Grammy Museum in a stunning sheer black lace mini dress (by fashion label Bode) — accentuated with a pair of red stilettos by Yves Saint Laurent.
It’s not the first time VanderWaal has modeled a sheer lingerie mini dress, as seen below in 2023.
