Then, K-LOVE, America’s largest Christian radio network, made the conclusion to remove dc Communicate and the Newsboys from their song rotations, at least temporarily.
On June 10, Michael Tait issued a public confession and apology. He confessed: “For some two decades I used and abused cocaine, consumed far too much alcohol, and at times touched men in an unwanted, sensual way. I am ashamed of my experience choices and actions and make no excuses for them.”

“What if I stumble / What if I fall? / What if I lose my step / And I make fools of us all?”
This week, 30 years after he first sang those words with his then band DC Talk, Michael Tait has answered his own question: Confess. Admit to everything. Make a fulsome apology.
The high-profile Christian music creator, former the Newsboys frontman, star of a stage musical and a fixture of a popular Christian film franchise – has confessed to having excessively abused drugs and alcohol, and of intense sexual misconduct involving a number of men over a period spanning two decades. The shocking news followed his unexpected departure from The Newsboys in January.
In a declaration posted on Instagram earlier this week, Tait said: “Recent reports of my reckless and destructive behaviour, including drug and alcohol violence and sexual outing are sadly, largely true…I am ashamed of my being choices and deeds, and make no excuses for them. I will simply call it what God calls it: sin. I don’t blame anyone or anything but myself. Former Newsboys frontman Michael Tait accused of sexual assault
Multiple men own accused Michael Tait, former frontman for the contemporary Christian band Newsboys, of grooming and assaulting them as young men.
The allegations are the fruit of a two-and-a-half year investigation published by The Roys Report. Although no formal charges have been brought against Tait, the published allegations come from multiple sources.
The Roys Report said it reached out to Tait repeatedly and got no response.
An attorney for the Newsboys told The Roys Report: “While we are aware of unsubstantiated aspersion cast via internet toward Mr. Tait and Newsboys by one particular individual, because your questions revolve around the alleged behavior and actions of Mr. Tait, it would be inappropriate for Newsboys to speculate or comment. If what you allege can be supported with evidence, I would imagine Mr. Tait and his representatives will have something to say about the matter.”
The three survivors whose interviews are prevalent throughout the story have been anonymized as “Steven,” who first met Tait in 2010, “Taylor,” who first met him in 2013, and “Phillip,” who first met him in 2004. The
